Overall, Exodus Z takes the undead genre straight to the Pearly Gates as the undead horde reaches heaven and corrupts even those of the highest grace. As the fight for survival elevates to different planes, this series absolutely captivated me with the world and story it’s created as we see a clash of something between Night of the Living Dead and Legion pour into this issue. It’s a fun entry point that certainly invests you in tuning in for more. Whether it converts you into an angel of heaven or an undead from the depths, is all up to you.
Without spoiling anything, this issue takes a truly surprising and throroughly engaging turn. The art is gritty and grimey and gross in all the right ways depicting the undead in gruesome detail. This issue plays with existing zombie tropes and introduces some fresh new elements If your a fan of zombies you really cant go wrong with this book.
Exodus-Z has a lot of funny quips, lots of exciting zombie action and has a ton of irony packed in it’s 24
pages. Backed by incredible art and lettering this is an exciting start to a series that takes a very fresh take on a genre where the same formula has been done to death. Pick it up for the refreshing twists and turns this tumultuous journey takes.
